THREE CORNERED MOON
Drummer Dave Collingwood and singer and guitarist Robin Allender perform under the name Three-Cornered Moon. Allender and Collingwood previously played in
Gravenhurst (
Warp Records) and currently make up the touring band of
Yann Tiersen (composer of the soundtracks for
Amelie and
Goodbye
Lenin).
Allender released his solo debut album The Bird and the Word in 2007, then went on to form
The Allender Band, featuring Collingwood on drums, Alex Wilkins on guitar and Sam Tarbuck on bass. The band recorded an EP,
In the Grip of Light (2008), and an album,
Outer Dark (2009). Songs from
these releases have been played on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2 by Gideon
Coe, Steve Lamacq and Radcliffe & Maconie. Steve Lamacq also interviewed
the band and made them ‘Featured Artist’ on his weekly Radio 2 show.
Now stripped down to a two-piece, Allender and Collingwood will play
songs from all three records as well as tracks from their forthcoming
self-titled album, due to be released later this year on Dreamboat Records.
"A really interesting sound […] Allender is an extraordinary guitar
player."
Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2
"Just gorgeous."

9BACH
9Bach first came on the scene in 2007, supporting Gruff Rhys on his
Candylion tour, where they picked up fans, and sold out of their 500
self made limited edition single. Festival appearances at Greenman, End
of then Road, and Swn followed. Their haunting blend of drum and bass
grooves, harp, harmonium, glockenspiel, and vibrato electric guitar, are
the perfect backing for Lisa Jen’s stunning voice, and have seen them
get many rave reviews for the album.
“9Bach are special, both because of Lisa Jens exquisite, clear vocals,
and the highly original arrangements. Lisa clearly has the potential to
match Scotland’s Julie Fowlis as a British star who doesn’t sing in
English”
Robin Denselow, The Guardian
“9Bach’s haunting songs are exquisitely sung in Jen’s native tongue,
and the instruments used result in a melange of Portishead, Cocteau
Twins, and Lorca – era Tim Buckley”
Mick Houghton, Uncut
“This brilliant young Welsh indie – folk band led by Lisa Jen Brown’s
gorgeous vocals take traditional songs and recast them on a spectral,
haunting electro sound canvas”

GEORGIA RUTH
Already known in her native Wales for her evocative blend of harp
melodies and haunting, lovelorn voice, Georgia Ruth is now ready to take
her music to a wider audience with a busy Spring seeing her play live
dates throughout the UK with Paper Aeroplanes and Nick Harper. Life as
a youngster by the coast of West Wales proved an equally strong
influence as did her seagoing Father, the ebbs and flows of the tide and
the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean surfacing frequently both
musically and lyrically within her songs of love and loss. Performances
of that music to date have been sporadic but sets at Glastonbury and SWN
attracted the praise of the likes of Huw Stephens. Her debut eponymous
EP is out now.
