Soaring cello, lush vocals and some truly outstanding songs define Furlined, a Bristol-based four-piece who will release their second album, Sovereign Ring, in June 2010. The band are a powerful live act, who can draw an audience in with their intimate, idiosyncratic sounds and irreverent wit.
"Morrissey meets Americana – superb songs with an irresistible English wit. " TOTAL GUITAR March 2008
"Furlined have woven their Smiths and Americana influences into an
album of mid-tempo reflections and disarming ballads. Beguiling cello,
warm riffs, wistful vocals and a catchy top line. Class." MUSICIAN July 2008
"These songs are stark but appealing constructions, full of sharp
observation and understated, mordant wit." VENUE August 2008
Suzy CondradSuzy sings, loops, blows bottles and weaves a web of story and song which is fleshed out by lightening flamenco fingerpicker Mike Manley, feisty soprano Jenny Gal Or and green-fingered percussionist Joe Medler. Compared variously to Joan Baez, Martha Tilston, Kate Bush and Kristin Hersh, the upbeat and heartfelt songs are easy to remember but hard to pigeon-hole and draw smiles and tears from anyone from infants to the elderly.
