Bristol Folkhouse Music

2nd Bristol bluegrass day

Saturday, 6 March 2010
Doors:

Followers of American roots music are in for a real treat.  The day after a one-off production of the stupendous Fat Shirley’s Trailer Park, a Bluegrass Opera, on Friday 5th March, the Bristol Folk House follow it up with the 2nd Bristol Bluegrass Day.

The day will feature banjo and fiddle workshops, a bluegrass jam session and a fantastic four-band single mike evening concert.  Headliners on the night will be the Thunderbridge Bluegrass Boys whose blazing approach to the music will be an exciting finale to the day.  However, the evening also features one of the longest established and traditional sounding of all the UK bluegrass bands today, the New Essex Bluegrass Band.

As if that were not enough, added to the mix are Bristol’s own Bluegrass and Americana band, The Hog Ranch, who also appear as the band in Fat Shirley the evening before, and the evening will be opened by Shoot the Breeze.
